Foods that Cause Cancer and Prevent Cancer

Over 500,000 people a year die from cancer and another 1,000,000 are diagnosed with cancer in a year alone. Despite these facts, just by controlling your diet, you can greatly reduce your chance of getting cancer.

Potato Chips and French Fries -These baked favorites contain a pesky carcinogen called acrylamide. It was not until this decade, that acrylamide was identified as being dangerous. This hazardous byproduct, from baking or frying foods, is tasteless and is contained in 40% of the total calorie intake for Americans. This byproduct is so harmful, that the maximum safe level in drinking water is 0.5 parts per billion. One serving of small French fries contains over 400 parts per billion. Next time you crave a chip or a fry, think twice before you eat.
Grilled Foods - Cancer causing chemicals are created when you grill meat. This is from the fat, high heat, and flames. What happens is the fat comes off of the meat into the coals or gas and then the flames put those hydrocarbons back into the food. However, this does not mean you can’t have a barbeque. There are some simple ways to minimize the carcinogenic compounds by reducing the time spent using the grill, cooking at the lowest temperature, and marinating the meat
Soy Sauce - Next time you’re at a Chinese restaurant, think twice before you add the soy sauce. The FSA(Food Standards Agency), has tested 100 samples of soy sauce and 22 of them were labeled cancer causing. They had a chemical called 3-MCPD, which is a carcinogen. Another 2/3 of the samples had a chemical called 1,3DCP which is not supposed to be any type of food. Some brands that failed the test included: Kim Lan, Sinsin, and Jammy Chai. Most of the big companies of soy sauce like Kikkoman and Chen Nian passed with ease. They’re popular for a reason.

Spicy Foods - A compound called Capsaicin, which is used to make foods spicy, was scientifically proven to kill tumors. The tests show that the compound targets and attacks the mitochondria of the cancerous cells. Capsaicin then binds to the protein in the mitochondria and causes a process of natural death.
Vegetables - Now will you listen to your mommy and eat your veggies? Vegetables contain the best source of phtyochemicals which offer prevention in the growth of some tumors. They are also low in saturated fat, which is linked to an increased risk of cancer. Vegetables also contain a lot of fiber and they have proven to help prevent cancer growth.
Grapes - Researchers have found a natural ant-fugal compound found in grapes that fights off cancer. Resveratrol is the name of the compound and has been proven to select and kill cancer cells.
By just following this simple eating guide and eating right, you can easily minimize your chance of getting cancer. Always remember that chemotherapy is much more painful than eating right.
I have tested and proven that these foods are either carcinogens or are able to prevent them. This was a science project and is an original article.

Great post! It is known that increasing the dietary intake of fruits and vegetables from the national average of two, up to five to nine servings per day, halves the risk of developing cancer. Thanks as well for your timely discussion of acrylamide, with KFC recently settling a suit with California’s attorney general requiring that acrylamide content be labeled (several others will probably follow). I think more people need to be alerted to the dangers of carcinogenic foods. The vast majority of people haven’t a clue that eating some foods can give them cancer.
Something I find disturbing is the fact that so many food products contain cancerous chemicals or other products. To stay safe[ish], never buy any food that comes in a box and eat home grown foods. There’s no other way to fully escape the risk.
It’s also cheaper to produce many of the foods the way they do, with carcinogenic chemicals present. But it should be made illegal to do so as it’s man slaughter - in a kind of detached way.
