Review of Dan Blogs
Jul 25th, 2007 by Alex
At first glance at Dan Blogs, you are greeted by a random cartoon version of Dan. It may not seem obvious, but the picture is a perfect for the website, because that’s exactly what the site is… random.
There have been many successful blogs that don’t have a niche: Michael Kwan, Stephen Fung, Ed Lau, and even John Chow gets off topic a lot. I remember John Chow wrote about bad ice cream once. That’s as random as it gets. In Dan Blogs, he blogs about everything from science fiction to showing off his photographic talents. In a recent post though, he promises to be more on topic, “So, henceforth, I hope and plan to refrain from straying off-course. What you will see here is stuff on blogging (including blogging in general as well as monetization issues and so on), technology, nature and antiques.”
Only time will show if he keeps his promise. All in all though, I enjoy reading his posts even if they are random. His voice really shows through in his writing, and I can tell he means business. The layout for Dan Blogs is very clean and besides the cartoon version of him, it doesn’t have any other graphics to distract the reader. However, I don’t see any Google Adsense Ads, Exo Click Ads, Pay per Post, or Text-Link Ads. I would suggest to Dan to sign up for some of these to do some serious monetizing.
Overall, I think that Dan Blogs is a great blog to visit. You’ll never know what he’ll blog, but it will keep you entertained. If Dan keeps doing what he’s doing, he’ll join the Successful Blogs Without A Niche list in no time.
