The Killer Cat
Jul 25th, 2007 by Alex

Robert was hospitalized for total kidney failure. He was expected to die in a few weeks, if they didn’t miraculously get a donor before it’s too late. The chance of that happening was next to nothing. Robert was a realistic man and knew that he was laying in his deathbed. He spent his last days reading and tried not to think about his impending doom.
One day, he was reading the local newspaper, when he spotted a cat entering his room. Robert was always fond of animals, so he started stroking the cat while reading the news. All of a sudden, he felt weaker than usual. He checked the screen saying that his heart was pumping normally. Robert couldn’t put his finger on it, but it felt like something or somebody was draining his energy.
His vision started getting hazy. Was it his medicine? No, he had always taken the same medicine. Robert looked at the cat, which was now curling up into a ball. He suddenly started chocking and gasping for air. He pressed the button calling the nurse.
“What’s wrong?” The nurse asked.
“I can- I can’t- breathe.” Robert could barely get the words out.
“The monitor says everything’s fine!”
“Wel- obviously- it’s wrong! Hel- me!” Robert gasped for breath.
The nurse inserted a tube into his mouth pumping oxygen into his system. It helped his oxygen problem, but he was starting to become unconscious. His vision started to become darker, and his heart beat slower and slower.
“We got a patient dying here!”
The doctors tried electroshock his heart to get it beating again. It was no use, Robert felt weaker and weaker, until he didn’t have the strength to even breathe. He turned his head to the cat that was glaring at him. It finally hit him. The cat was making him die. As farfetched at it sounds, Robert was certain the cat was draining his energy. His vision was reduced to almost nothing, until total darkness swept over him. A loud beep followed, as the machine said his heart stopped beating. The doctors never found out what caused his whole body to malfunction. They didn’t want to expose that though, instead they said Robert died from his kidneys.

Yes, this one’s an interesting story, but…
I was thinking about your blog today. Your end note reads: “Why have Twisted News? To make news more interesting and to get people to read the boring news.To see the real story click here.”
With regard to the real cat story here, the actual story is interesting. Maybe what you should focus on is the news stories that aren’t interesting? The ones that are boring?
Just my $.02. As a reader, I don’t mind reading interesting news stories. It’s the boring ones that can be a drag to read through.
On the other hand, though, I might not have seen this cat news story if I hadn’t found it here.
THanks for all the feedback Dan. I will try to twist a boring news story today
