Things to Do in Your Spare Time
Jun 6th, 2007 by Alex

You’ve updated your blog, posted on some social bookmarking sites, and have nothing else to do. Your options are a) sleep b) eat c) go to bash.org or d) do what the experienced bloggers do. What do they do? Here’s a list of things to do in your spare time to promote your website.
Comment on Other Blogs
Here’s a list of the blogs that I visit and comment on regularly
John Chow’s Blog
His blog has a lot of great content to help you make more money. He also has almost 6000 readers. Sometimes he has great contests featuring Wiis and more.
Caught In the Stream
Caught in the Stream has a lot of random articles like Usmans World. They’re very entertaining to read.
Max Tower
This blog also features a lot of random articles. However, they are usually leaning to the funny side.
Jane May’s Blog
This blog also has tips and tricks to help you make more money off of your blog. It also features reviews that help you make more money off of your website.
Michael Kwan’s Site
I like this blog because it has great articles and a little on everything. He’s really random in his posts, and it’s unique.
Commenting on other blogs will make you part of the “community.” When you have a blog, you are now part of the big community with other blogs. A good way to find other blogs is by joining mybloglog.
Find article ideas
Ideas are everywhere on the Internet. I like to find inspiration from the Yahoo news, digg.com, and the local newspapers. If you do come up with an idea, make sure to write it down. A lot of times, I think of a good idea and forget it later in the midst of things.
Look for Guess Blogging opportunities
Guest blogging is always a good thing for your site and the blog you’re writing for. You get traffic from their site, and the blog gets a unique style. There are plenty of blogs out there that allow guest blogging. Just ask some of the big time blogs like John Chow to fill in when they go on vacation.
Post your Blog on Forums
If you post your blog on forums it’ll not only generate traffic, but people can give out pointers for your ad placement and other stuff. I usually go to Digitalpiont Forums. There is a category just for blogging there, and you can seek help whenever you want.
Following these things help make your productivity better too. Instead of doing random things, you can get up and promote your blog easily.

And I hope most of those blogs give a small link back to me too thanks!
Thanks for the link. I like the new layout, and the content is very entertaining and useful as well. I’ve added “Usman’s World” to my list of blogs in the right column. Keep up the excelent blogging!

Usman,
Thanks for the link. I am glad you think I am funny. I try to give a laugh every now and then. “How To Buy Websites” is my serious side.
Yeah no problem, I just added you and Buying a Website to my blogroll.
